Overview

Join storm spotters and weather enthusiasts from across the state and region for the 4th biannual Indiana Michigan Ohio SkywarnTM Advanced Spotter Training. It will be a full-day severe weather conference designed to train you in spotting techniques, equip you with information about the latest in weather technology, and connect you with other SkywarnTM communities from across the region.

The goal of the 2011 Advanced Spotter Training is to encourage more organization within the IMO SkyWarnTM Spotter program, developing cohesive, inclusive and collaborative spotter networks.

Who should attend?

The workshop is geared for experienced storm spotters, but is open to all. If you are interested in further developing your storm spotting skills, this workshop is the perfect place for you. If you are a public safety official and would like to hear more about the latest weather technologies that can make your community safer, please join us. If you simply have a fascination for weather and want to learn more about it, you are welcome to attend. The Indiana Michigan Ohio SkywarnTM Advanced Spotter Training is intended to give intermediate to advanced skills in the areas of storm identification, severe storms research, spotter operations, storm safety, and the latest technology involving severe weather. If you are new to the spotter community, please be sure to also attend a spotter certification class near you!

This year's training is being held at the Maple City Chapel in Goshen, Indiana.

Cost?

The cost is only $30. This entitles you to a full day of workshops led by meteorologists, EMA personnel and weather personalities who are leaders in the fields of weather forecasting and emergency response.
